IMPORTANT APPLICATION AND REGISTRATION INFORMATION
The course will be available through Summer Registration at USC. The list of Summer offerings will be available in February. Registration will begin in March.
In order to be accepted for the course, students must receive a "D-Clearance" from our Program Office (Student Affairs). To qualify for this D-Clearance, students MUST submit a one-page letter stating their interest in the course to me via email ([email protected]). The subject of the email should be "OTR Application." If you are an undergraduate, there you will have to have your academic adviser petition your registration in the class once you are accepted. Applications are taken on a rolling basis, so you may apply now. Students must also submit two references (just contact information) that include one or two of their past professors (preferably from the Sol Price School of Public Policy).
NOTE: If you had me as a professor, you may submit your application without references. However, the fact that you had me as a professor will NOT guarantee you a spot in a very limited roster.
Speyer, Germany is a beautiful, historic city of approximately 50,000 people located in the state of Rhineland-Palatinate on the Rhine River. The campus is in the city, approximately one mile from the city square that features many cafes, beer gardens, restaurants, and shops. Speyer is a clean, unique, and incredibly safe city with historic roman architecture, cobbled streets, and one of Germany's most famous cathedrals in the center of the city. The 2,000-year-old city of Speyer is a quick train ride away from Frankfurt and Mannheim, where connecting trains can be taken to various destinations across Europe.
The intent of this program is to offer students exposure to new intellectual and cultural experiences. Both the substantive and cultural experience will serve students well in developing knowledge, skills, and assets desired by both prospective graduate schools and employers with interests related to international governance issues in public policy, public administration, economics, and international law. Most importantly, the program offers students a personally enriching experience that they will never forget.
Students stay on campus in dormitories that offer full amenities.
